My View on “Leftover Girls”
In the current times, the number of “leftover girls” is increasing, many of whom hold a higher salary and advanced academic degree. They are well beyond the normal marriage age but still remain single because of several factors.
An important reason why they stay single is that they have higher standard concerning marriage and their marital mates, because these girls want to wait for a true soul mate. So it is difficult for them to find desirable and suitable mates.
Another significant factor is that people’s modern outlooks on life and wealth are gradually changing with the change of the current society. Some of them focus on their careers and enjoy the opportunity of building the wealth by and for themselves. As a result, they have little time and energy for finding a partner, and even do not need to rely on partner to earn money for them in the aspect of financial status.
Overall, this social phenomenon is universal, and the reasons why some girls still remain single beyond the normal marriage are various. No matter how they consider, I deem that someone’s freedom to choose lifestyles should be respected.
