It is widely known that education in China is expanding, as there are substantially more Ph.D. engineers and scientists in China than in the United States, and China is increasingly dominant in terms of foreign undergraduates studying in the US. A lot of Westerners think that these are a sign of the growing gap in ambition that separates the aspiring developing China from the tired, old, “advanced” America. Do you agree? Are there other reasons for these phenomenons? What do you think they are?
