Qixi refers to the night of the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, a traditional Chinese folk romantic festival. Legend has it that the cowherd and the Weaver Girl meet once a year on the magpie Bridge. Although the Qixi Festival is not as grand as other festivals such as The Lantern Festival, The Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, almost everyone in China is familiar with the touching story behind the festival. Many people regard the Double Seventh Festival as the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
