Volunteers are needed for the summer camp to be held on our campus in early July. The camp is meant to help lend participants a competitive edge over others so that they can better face challenges in the future.

Basic requirements are familiarity with the theme of the camp. Other requirements include interpersonal communication ability, familiarity with our university and the city in terms of their history, proper manners and sense of responsibility. Priority and preference will be given to those experienced, either in organizing camps or similar activities.

A survey is conducted to analyze graduates’ choices in a certain university between 2013 and2018. As can be revealed in the bargraph, the percentage of students who prefer to seek a job declinesfrom 68.1% to 60.7%, while the proportion of those who choose to pursue furtherstudies surges from 26.3% to 34%. Furthermore,the percentage of graduates who hope to start their own business increasesslightly from 1.3% to 2.6%. Thisphenomenon, indeed, is worth our attention.

Why should thisphenomenon take place? Generally, several factors may account for it. One ofthe major contributing factors for this is that with the improved quality of life,college students nowadays were born in a relatively well-off family. Most ofthem do not have to relieve the financial pressure of their family by taking ajob upon graduation. Therefore,an increasing number of college graduates would rather pursue further studies. Also playing a part is thatgraduates are confronted with fierce competition in the job market. A higherdegree, in a sense, is the guarantee of a decent job. As a result, more and more students prefer to pursueadvanced studies to enhance their competitiveness.

In a nutshell, forthe above-mentioned reasons, it is not difficult to reach a conclusion that college graduates are faced withvarious choices upon graduation. Therefore,it may be predicted that this phenomenon will continue in the immediate future.
